Camp Hope Visitors' Day

For most children, summer is a time a time to play, to go to camp, to the beach, or on vacation a time to simply enjoy being a child. For children with AIDS, summer can be a lonely time, a time of staying indoors, taking medications, feeling sick, and experiencing isolation from friends.

With help from individuals like you, AIDS Foundation Houston, Inc. (AFH) is making summer a joyful time for children with HIV/AIDS by sponsoring Camp Hope and Camp H.U.G.

Campers play Kickball at Camp Hope AIDS Foundation Houston, Inc. (AFH) launched the first Camp Hope for twenty-two HIV-positive children in September 1996.  These Houston children experienced a safe and fun-filled weekend without fear of stigma or discrimination.
Today, Camp Hope is an exciting weeklong adventure at Camp For All near Brenham, Texas.  Each year, over 150 HIV-positive children between the ages of seven and 15 gather to enjoy swimming, fishing, camping, archery, arts and crafts, canoeing, and simply hanging out with newfound friends.

Camp Hope is so much more than just summer camp. Camp Hope offers the normal joys of childhood—joys that every child deserves.  Most of these children live in households that earn less than $700 a month and do not otherwise have the resources to attend Camp Hope.  With generous support from the community, AFH strives to offer the Camp Hope experience to every HIV-positive child. Give now.
