At Legacy, we empower our clients to lead a better life by providing premium, compassionate primary health care services. We are committed to serving a diverse community including those persons who have traditionally faced problems accessing quality health care.
We have been at the forefront of responding to the HIV epidemic since 1985 when we became the city's first, and the nation's second alternative HIV antibody testing site. We understand the importance of offering tailored health care to all of our HIV-positive patients while addressing their unique needs in a friendly, non-judgmental and culturally sensitive environment.
Our focus is to make a positive difference in each of the lives we touch. In 2008, Legacy served 21,676 (approximately 1,800/month) men, women and teens with nearly 68,683 patient/client visits for HIV and Hepatitis C testing and counseling, syphilis testing and counseling, STD screening and treatment, primary HIV health care, early intervention, disease prevention and education, medical case management, outreach, and other health services addressing specific needs.
By joining Legacy's Team or by making a donation, you help us help so many. Here are a few examples of how your support can make a difference in the lives of our clients:
