Q: Is there a registration fee?

A: There is NO fee to participate in AIDS Walk Houston. Registration is not required but is strongly encouraged.

Q: When is the Walk?

AIDS Walk Houston 2020 takes place on Sunday, March 1, 2020.

Q: Where is the Walk?

AIDS Walk Houston will take place at Sam Houston Park in Downtown Houston

Q: What time does the Walk begin?

Q: How long is the Walk?

The Walk is ~1.8 miles (~3K). 

Q: How much does it cost to register?

A: There is no registration fee; however, we appreciate any and all fundraising efforts. Every dollar raised helps persons living with HIV/AIDS and funds our efforts to reduce transmission of the virus!

Q. Where can I get a sponsor (pledge) sheet for the Walk?

Q. Can I use the AIDS Walk logo to make flyers, t-shirts, posters, etc?

A. Yes, you can. In fact, we hope you will! Visit this page to download the AIDS Walk Houston 2019 logo in various sizes (jpeg format).

Q: Are children allowed to participate in the Walk?

Children are welcome to participate and strollers may be used on the route.

Q. Can I bring my dog, cat snake, ferret, iguana, Bengal tiger or other pet to the Walk?

A. Parks and Recreation Department Regulations prohibits dogs, amphibians, reptiles and snakes that are considered dangerous.

Q: Is alcohol allowed at the event?

A: No, the City of Houston does not permit alcohol in Sam Houston Park.

Q:How do I register?

Q: How do I send out emails to my friends, family, and co-workers?

A: Go to

  1. Click the ACCOUNT LOGIN link near the bottom right corner of the page and log in with your username and password.
  2. At the top of the page, click on the Messages tab and select the Contact List option.
  3. If you don’t have any contacts you can click on Import Contacts at the top of your contact list and upload contacts from your email address book.
  4. You can also add individual email addresses by clicking on Add Contact.
  5. Once you have addresses in your address book, click the Compose a Message tab.
  6. Choose message type and the Subject field will be filled in automatically. You can use the subject line provided, edit it, or replace it with your own.
  7. Click on Select from Contacts under Recipients and choose from the categories provided to see a list of recipients. Select recipients to receive your message.
  8. Once you’ve selected the recipients. click on Import Contacts at the bottom and the selected contacts will appear in the Recipients field. You can also enter individual email addresses in the field below the menu.
  9. Make sure that everyone who should receive the message appears in the Recipients box.
  10. Now enter your message in the Message box. The controls in the menu bar enable you to format your message and add links and images if desired.
  11. Once you have created your message and chosen your recipients, you can send your message by clicking the SEND MESSAGE button at the bottom.
  12. If you would like to finish and send your message later, click on the Save Draft link. You can see existing drafts by clicking on the Drafts tab near the top of the page.
  13. If you would like to see how your message will look, click Send Test Message to Myself and go to your email to see the result.

Q: How many people do I have to have on my team to qualify for a team table?

A: You must have 20 or more people by Thursday, February 20th to have a team table in Team Land on Walk day.  If you have a small team and don’t qualify for a table, pick a place in the park in advance to meet on Walk day.
