There are nearly 33100* individuals known to be living with HIV in the Harris County/Houston area as of December 31, 2019, and nearly 8,000 (estimated) in the Houston Eligible Metropolitan Area (EMA) are unaware of their status according to the CDC.
With only 21% of Texans being tested for HIV, it is imperative that Houstonians know their status and are educated to protect themselves against HIV infection.
Knowing your HIV status gives you the knowledge you need to keep yourself and your partners safe and healthy. The CDC estimates that nearly 8,000 HIV-positive people in the Houston area are unaware of their status* and a staggering six out of ten (63.0%) adult residents living in Houston/Harris County alone have never been tested for HIV. That’s why we are on a mission to help eliminate the stigma behind HIV/AIDS and STDs. We encourage everyone to get tested and know their status.
Confidential Rapid Testing
We value your privacy and will protect your personal information. You can even take the test anonymously if you choose. We perform rapid HIV testing with a finger prick or oral swab, so the process doesn’t take long. You may have your results in as little as 60 seconds.
We are offering HIV and syphilis testing under a modified plan to ensure safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. Walk-in testing is not available at this time. We are open for appointments from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Thursday.
